In partnership with state departments of transportation, VA is connecting Veterans traveling through rural areas with information about their telehealth options, the closest VA location, and the Veterans Crisis Line by posting these resources at rest areas and welcome centers.

To date, this pilot program has posted resources at 157 rest areas and 89 welcome centers across Kansas, Louisiana, Montana, Nevada, and Wyoming, covering more than 52,000 miles of state and interstate highways. VA intends to continue this initiative in other rural states.
