Two Connected Care Executive Leaders Recognized with 2024 Presidential Rank Awards

The Office of Connected Care is proud to announce that Dr. Neil C. Evans, M.D., and Dr. Kevin Galpin, M.D., have each won a fiscal 2024 Presidential Rank Award. 

The Presidential Rank Awards Program was established by the Civil Service Reform Act of 1978. There are 2 award levels: Distinguished Rank for sustained extraordinary accomplishment and Meritorious Rank for sustained accomplishment. This esteemed honor is the highest recognition the U.S. government bestows upon senior career civil servants.

Dr. Evans is Connected Care’s Chief Officer and is currently serving as Acting Program Executive Director of VHA’s Electronic Health Record Modernization Integration Office. He is one of only 53 individuals across all federal government agencies who were named to this year’s list of Distinguished Executive (SES) Rank recipients.

Dr. Galpin, Executive Director of Telehealth Services, is currently serving as Acting Chief Officer of Connected Care. He is among a short list of 151 individuals across all federal government agencies who were named to the list of Meritorious Executive (SES) Rank recipients.

This prestigious honor is the second elite civil service recognition that Dr. Evans and Dr. Galpin received this year. In the fall, they each accepted a 2024 Service to the Citizen Award in the category of Delivering Excellence in Digital Services.
