Veterans: Watch This Video about VHRC Peer Training Specialist NPWE Positions

Veterans who are eligible for VA’s Veteran Readiness & Employment program can become a peer training specialist at a Virtual Health Resource Center (VHRC) through a Non-Paid Work Experience (NPWE) position. NPWE positions are 6-month hands-on training and practical work experiences at federal, state, and local  government levels. The positions can lead to noncompetitive hire once program participation ends.

The Office of Connected Care offers NPWE positions to train Veterans for the role of a VHRC peer training specialist. Peer specialists interact with other Veterans, their family members and caregivers, as well as VA staff, to support their use and adoption of VA virtual care tools and technologies. This includes providing technical support, as well as installing, configuring, and troubleshooting digital health tools.
