VA Oklahoma Increases Awareness about PACT Act and My HealtheVet

Oklahoma City VA is spreading the word: More Veterans are eligible for VA health care under the PACT Act.

The PACT Act is the largest health care and benefit expansion in VA history. It expands VA care eligibility for Veterans who experienced exposure to toxic substances during service in Vietnam, the Gulf War, and post-9/11 eras. Some Veterans’ surviving family members may also be eligible for specific benefits.

Lisa Mosely, My HealtheVet Coordinator for the Oklahoma City VA, attends various PACT Act events alongside VA providers, nurses, and eligibility staff. “My overall goal is to let Veterans know about My HealtheVet and how it can be a useful resource.”

Veterans who attend the PACT Act presumptive claims events can ask the PACT Act eligibility and service officers questions. They can also receive toxic exposure screenings, file a claim and, in some cases, receive a same-day decision.
