As Houston faced flooding following Hurricane Harvey, VA activated its emergency response system. For the first time, this included telehealth among the medical services offered to Veterans. The Office of Connected Care's mobile and telehealth programs worked with the Houston VA and VA's regional network. Together they set up telehealth capabilities to help Veterans at two large shelters and four clinics. VA care teams used VA Video Connect and other video technologies to hold virtual health care appointments with Veterans.
