VA Telehealth Requests Legislative Fixes at Congressional Field Hearing

Dr. Kevin Galpin, Executive Director, VA Telehealth Services, recently participated in a House Veterans Affairs Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee field hearing, where he testified that achieving the maximum benefit of VA's video telehealth services requires legislative fixes. The hearing, titled "VA Home Telehealth: Looking Behind the Numbers," took place in Traverse City, MI, on Aug. 30.

"We should not have barriers," Dr. Galpin said. "Legislation can take us farther than regulations can. If I have a provider that can deliver a service, if I have a Veteran who needs a service, we should be able to connect them, simply, no questions asked."
