Connected Care Transforms What's New Page into Engaging Blog Spot

New OCC Whats New Layout

The Office of Connected Care has proudly shared a lot of news in recent years. Much has been written about our programs – VA Telehealth, VA Mobile and My HealtheVet – and the ways in which they are increasing Veterans' access to care, enhancing health care coordination across VA, and supporting Veterans' participation in their own care. In fact, since launching a What's New page on our website in 2016, we've posted summaries and links to more than 140 third-party and VA-authored articles.

Lately, the more we've posted, the more we realized that the page needed a makeover. Scrolling and scanning page after page of headlines is not an ideal experience for site visitors. So, today we proudly share this news: The Connected Care What's New page has been transformed into an engaging, interactive blog spot.

Taking inspiration from popular news outlets, the new design features a landing page for readers to peruse titles and thumbnails, as well as select category navigation choices that streamline readers to their favorite topics. Once an article selection is made, readers are taken to a new page that includes the article and a relevant "Next Read" story suggestion. Navigation categories include:

  • Technology – promoting the latest enhancements and success stories across Connected Care programs
  • App Development – showcasing the latest VA apps and their features
  • Awards – spotlighting the recognition that Connected Care leadership and programs have received
  • Veteran’s Corner – telling Veterans' good news stories about their use of Connected Care technologies

Spreading the word about Connected Care programs and their benefits is paramount to successful user adoption of the virtual technologies we offer. The newly redesigned What's New blog spot will help us do just that. Visit the site today and share our stories.
