The Office of Connected Care has announced the appointment of Dr. Meredith Josephs, MD, MPH, FAAFP, FAMIA, as Executive Director of Connected Health.
Dr. Josephs joins Connected Care from the Federal Electronic Health Record Modernization (FEHRM) Office, where she served as the Chief Medical Informatics Officer (CMIO) since 2019.
As CMIO, Dr. Josephs provided executive oversight of all clinical and business aspects of the effort to implement a single, common federal electronic health record and joint health information exchange for the Department of Defense, Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Department of Homeland Security’s US Coast Guard, and other Federal agencies. She was named to FCW’s Federal 100 list in 2021 for this work.
Dr. Josephs has over 20 years of experience in healthcare practice and administration. Prior to her tenure with VA and the FEHRM, Dr. Josephs was the Vice President, Clinical Informatics in the private sector for Privia Health. She is a physician informaticist and family physician with a passion for using health information technology to support clinicians, maximize the quality of patient care, and enhance the Veteran experience.
