On May 4, 2021, the Office of Connected Care and T-Mobile held a Facebook Live event showcasing how we're partnering together and using tools like VA Video Connect to bring care closer to Veterans.
In 2018, VA and T-Mobile began a partnership that allowed Veterans to use VA Video Connect without incurring data charges. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the use of video telehealth appointments has surged, increasing by more than 1000% since March 2020.
This event featured VA experts, Leonie Heyworth, M.D., Connected Care Director of Synchronous Telehealth, and Deborah Scher, Executive Advisor to the Secretary, leading the Secretary's Center for Strategic Partnerships. Dave Bezzant, Sr., T-Mobile National Director of Public Sector Direct Sales, moderated the discussion.
