Veterans Helping Veterans: Secure Sign-in Changes

A couple looking at the My HealtheVet homepage.

Secure sign-in changes are here. And VA staff across the country are ready to support Veterans through the transition.

VA is making sign-in changes to meet modern security standards for protecting Veterans’ personal data and help prevent scammers from stealing Veterans’ benefits. Veterans can no longer use their My HealtheVet user ID and password to sign in to VA.gov, VA apps, or any other online VA services. After September 30, 2025, Veterans also won’t be able to use their Department of Defense Self-Service Logon, or DS Logon, user ID and password for VA online services. Moving forward, Veterans will have two sign-in options: Login.gov or ID.me.

VA staff are ready to provide virtual and in-person support to Veterans who need help with VA’s secure sign-in changes.
