Veteran Richard Tirrell, who receives care at the Togus VA Medical Center in Augusta Maine, says all Veterans should use VA Telehealth. In fact, he credits his VA Telehealth nurse with saving his life.
"One time I had a very low oxygen saturation of 89 and I was gasping for breath and she had called me up to check on me and she told me to get to the ER," he said. "I was within a couple hours of dying. I had a clot on each lung and one in my left leg."
The VA Maine Healthcare System is hosting VA Video Connect and other telehealth demonstrations at several of its locations this summer. WABI5, the local CBS television news affiliate, attended the demo event at Togus earlier this month and interviewed Tirrell for the segment.
