In FY2019, VA delivered more than 2.6 million episodes of telehealth care, representing a 17% increase in overall telehealth visits over the previous fiscal year. Additionally, Veterans' use of VA Video Connect for secure video appointments with a VA health care provider increased 235%, with more than 99,000 Veterans using the app in their homes rather than visiting a VA facility.
"VA is committed to offering Veterans the health care they deserve, whenever and wherever they need it," said VA Secretary Robert Wilkie in a VA news release detailing VA Telehealth's FY2019 report. "We want every Veteran to have a choice to schedule an in-person, telephone or video visit with their providers, depending on their preferences for health care delivery."
