The latest edition of the VHA Office of Rural Health newsletter, The Rural Connection, spotlights several VA Telehealth initiatives for 2018 aimed at expanding access to care for rural Veterans. The first article details a pilot telehealth program called Virtual Living Room. Veterans in rural McKee, Kentucky, are now able to use a private room at the Jackson County Public Library to connect with Lexington VA Medical Center providers more than 60 miles away. The expansion of teledermatology, including more equipment and two new VA apps, My Telederm and VA Telederm, as well as the opening of three new Tele-Intensive Care Units (TeleICU) are also included in the newsletter.
