The Office of Connected Care, together with VA’s Office of Rural Engagement and the Benton Institute of Broadband & Society, recently published the report, Veterans and Digital Equity: Planning for Success. This essential new publication is free and available to the public.
The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act identifies Veterans as one of eight covered populations that disproportionately experience inadequate access to technology and the internet. The act encourages states to research and address the barriers these populations face.
The report team analyzed digital equity plans developed thus far by all 50 states, federal districts, and territories. Their goal was to identify current strategies that demonstrate thoughtful and tactical approaches to addressing Veterans’ digital equity. Based on their analysis, the report offers recommendations for states’ future digital equity efforts for Veterans.
In conjunction with this report’s publication, Connected Care, Rural Engagement, and Benton hosted an online panel discussion to discuss these promising approaches to addressing Veterans’ broadband and digital technology needs.
