When Air Force Veteran Ann Schermer started working with the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) of Oklahoma as an adjutant in 2012, she never dreamed she’d be state commander by 2021. Since the role now takes her all over the state and country, she uses the opportunity to help Veterans file claims and understand their VA Telehealth options – including VA Video Connect.
Schermer and her husband, a fellow Air Force Veteran, both receive VA care through telehealth themselves. It enables them to fit care into their busy schedules and get it from the comfort of their home.
“VA Telehealth has been wonderful for my husband because there are days he just can’t get dressed and leave the house. He is getting the help he needs. VA telehealth has been wonderful for him.”
