Multifactor authentication is one way we can work together to keep your information safe. Multifactor authentication adds an extra layer of security, so we can make sure it's you, and not a hacker, trying to access your account.

Here's how it works: When you sign into a VA website or app, you will enter your username and password. You will then be asked to verify your identity in an additional way — by entering a code that is sent to a device that only you should have before you can access your account. You will receive the code either by text, phone call, or through an authenticator app.
