When Julie Parson and her husband, U.S. Army Veteran Woodrow “Woody” Young, go to his health care appointments, she always brings a folder full of his medical records – printed from his My HealtheVet account – just in case. She says being prepared is an important part of being her husband’s care advocate.
Young, who granted his wife power of attorney to help him manage his care, says he’s grateful for the effort. “She loves me, and I love her. She’s always helped with my care and makes it so easy for me.”
But Parson says My HealtheVet is what makes things easy for her. During the couple’s recent moves — from Iowa to South Carolina and then to Georgia – Parson says My HealtheVet’s tools were especially helpful in ensuring a seamless care experience for her husband.
