The MOVE! program team at the Oklahoma City VA recently distributed Fitbit devices to Veterans in a pilot program to increase access to technology for health purposes. The pilot also assisted with testing VA’s Sync My Health Data app, which allows Veterans to share their Fitbit health stats with their health care providers.
“The Fitbit was a great asset to the MOVE! program,” said coordinator Cynthia Thorsen. “Veterans were able to document their weight, water intake, and food. It also calculated their steps and even the amount of sleep they got.”
Overall, program participants had great success in improving their health.
